Name: Tammy Booth

My Experience in progressive politics:

I was an Air Force wife with a front-row seat to the freak-show of god-boys who hijacked the USAF. I am no longer bound by protocol.

When the time came to step up for the blogosphere, I did so. I filed the legal brief that got the pre-sentencing letters in support of Scooter Libby released to the public. I have a problem with treason. I'm funny that way.

My personal volunteering highlight:

No, I didn't have that opportunity in my previous life.

Steps I've taken to combine on-line and off-line action:

I have started interacting with other progressives at meetings like Drinking Liberally, and I have been attending events like Truman Days and candidate forums and the state Democratic convention. Then I blog about those things!

Why I want to attend Netroots Nation:

To meet other people like me who are dedicated to the restoration of liberty and the Constitution, and who share the belief with me that the best way to do that is to elect Democrats.

What I want to get out of Netroots Nation:

Inspiration, lasting friendships and ideas to promote that will help elect Democrats.

What is a progressive activist:

Someone who interpolates current data and uses it to construct a model of the future and takes actions in the present that will benefit our progeny, rather than saddle them with debt and environmental degradation.

How I think blogs fit into the progressive movement:

We are the pamphleteers of a revolution that is being fought with ballots instead of bullets.

How I think Democracy For America fits into the progressive movement:

You are the headwaters from which we all flow.

In 10 words or less, create a bumper-sticker slogan against John McCain:

John McCain is just George Mcsame

Why I Deserve a Scholarship to Attend

I am so opposed to the war in Iraq that I have stopped driving and I have lowered my income to an untaxable level. I can simply not afford to attend without a scholarship as a consequence of that decision.
